There are many ways to classify magick. The most common is the simple binary distinction between black and white. But there is also yellow magick, and red magick, and right hand and left hand, and magick with and without a ‘k’.

 

One of the most basic distinctions is between those types of magick that draw upon and deploy erotic energies and those that do not. Sex, eros, libido, is a fundamental energy of the universe. It is very often repressed or else ‘sublimated’ into other forms, but in its direct state, as all lovers know, it is potent and transformative. It can be used as a source of dynamic magickal power.

 

In some minds, any magick that uses sexual energies is ‘evil’ or ‘Satanic’ or at very least is ‘playing with danger'. Some call such systems ‘tantric’', adopting a Sanskrit term, and describe them as ‘heterodox’ because they deviate from the narrow morality of orthodoxy.

 

Amg Ada is a magick that defies ordinary classifications. It represents a stream of tradition  outside of the more familiar modes of magick in Western occultism. It is not a theurgy, not kabbalistic, not Masonic, not Thelemic. It is pagan, and shamanic, and alchemical, but in unique ways.

 

It is an earth magick, rooted in ancient pre-Christian practices, that invokes the primordial energies of sexual joy to access secret regions of the realm of dreams and to commune with the archetypal entities of cosmic essence, pure fire, that dwell there. It is not a witchcraft but it is nature-based and reveres the Divine Feminine and in some ways has more in common with Wicca than with any type of formal ceremonial magick. Yet it is not Wicca. 

 

It is mysterious, beautiful, powerful. It is a lost tradition of occidental sexual magick revived, revised and renewed for the post-Christian era.
